April's tax season is always
a good reminder of why we
should support the
Republican Party. Our party
has always stood for fiscal
responsibility and lower
taxes for all Americans. We
know that lower taxes means
more money in the pockets of
hardworking Americans and a
better standard-of-living
for all. It brings me
comfort in knowing that
Senator
John McCain
has a track record of being
a strong fiscal
conservative. That is one
reason it is so important we
elect him as president.
I
would like to thank all who
attended the county and
district conventions that
were recently held. We had a
great crowd at both events.
I am proud to say that Floyd
County had the second
largest delegation, Cobb was
first, attend the district
convention (see picture). It
was the largest delegation
ever sent by our county, and
we had a great time hearing
from our speakers, electing
delegates and alternates to
the national convention, and
debating resolutions.
Congratulations to
Cookie
Wozniak for
being elected as a national
delegate. Cookie has been
very active in the Floyd
County GOP for many years,
and currently serves as the
Republican Women's president
and the FCRP secretary. It
has been a long time since
there has been a national
delegate from Floyd County
and Cookie is well deserving
of the honor.
I hope you will all have a
chance to come to the GOP
Breakfast Club meeting on
Saturday, April 26th
to hear Department of
Transportation member
David
Doss speak
about the on-goings at the
state DOT and our upcoming
road projects. David is a
member of the FCRP and has
been a strong voice for
Northwest Georgia.
I would also like to
congratulate former Polk
County Commissioner and
FCRP member
Roger Waldrop
on his recent
appointment by Governor
Sonny Perdue
as an
at-large representative
to the state Board of
Corrections.
Anyone interested in
being a candidate
for a county office,
please send me an
email as soon as
possible. Qualifying
is from April 28 -
May 2 at my office.
To all of you who have
joined this year, thanks
again for your support of
the FCRP!
See you Saturday.
Sincerely,
Martha Bryant
Chair, FCRP
P.S. I would also like
